| ROD BOLTS ALWAYS resize the big ends of your rods when installing new rod bolts. This is always important, but probably more so when using these higher performance bolts. Many bearing failures can be traced to the rods not being true in the big end bore. If the hole is not dead round, then neither will the bearings be when you install them!! Assembly in the car is easier because now you only need a 3/8" socket instead of a larger more clumsy 1/2". These studs are around 20% stronger than grade 8 just what you need to make sure long manifolds like the APT Maniflow range seal up as they should. AMS-1 All ‘A’ series ( use the thick standard washers that come stock also, these help spread the load) set For B series - can be used where flange thickness is less than 1/2" This covers all race setups, but cannot be used with the factory manifolds. (Too thick). HEAD STUD SETSAlways upgrade to these premium quality head studs, even for a stock engine rebuild. Nobody needs a blown head gasket on a hot day, upgrade now. For more info on 'A' & 'B' series head stud kits go: Here TRIUMPH HEAD STUD KITSAgain, these studs with their 190,000 PSI tensile strength (that's 95 tons!) are highly recommended for all engine specs. HST425-10 Spitfire & Midget 1300/1500 with 10 stud heads HST425-11 Spitfire + Herald etc. with 11 stud heads. HSGT6 Triumph 2000 GT6 all models Can also be used for most TR6 engines. The limiting factor is cylinder head thickness, which has to be under 3.41" inches. There is only one head casting, the one used on the very low compression (late) engine that falls outside this range. Most Triumph heads need so much off them to get a half way reasonable compression ratio that all we suggest you do is to specify when ordering that you need HSGT6 for a TR6 and we will include a 0.060" thick washer in place of the normal 0.120" thick item.
