Author details: F. Wilson McComb had unrivalled qualifications to write the MG story. He described himself as a "full-time sports car enthusiast", and for more than thirty years he was at the forefront of automotive journalism. He worked for over a decade at the MG Car Company Limited and knew the "Abingdon atmosphere" as an insider at the Oxfordshire factory where the cars were build and dispatched worldwide. At MG, he started and edited the company's magazine 'Safety Fast'. He was also General Secretary of the international MG Car Club and the founder of the MGCC Vintage Register. F. Wilson McComb died in 1989.
