Ray
Newell is an acknowledged authority and accomplished writer on the
Morris Minor. He has been Secretary of the Morris Minor Owners Club
since 1983 and has overseen the rapid growth of this influential club,
which now has a membership of nearly 15,000. More recently he has been
instrumental in establishing the Worlwide Federation of Morris Minor Car
Clubs, which is dedicated to improving international relations between
the ever-growing number of clubs seeking to ensure the continued use and
preservation of this most popular of British cars.
He has contributed articles to most of the UK's classic car magazines.
Over the years he has owned and restored a wide variety of Minors,
starting with his first ever car, a 1964 Morris 1000 two-door saloon.
Presently there are two Minor Series MM jewels in his garage: an
immaculately restored 1949 tourer and a 1952 four-door saloon that
covered only 38,000 miles. |
